Haha! We knew pathfinding would be a learning curve but once it is working it makes the Mossm setups so much more amazing so we decided to go ahead with it and do the best we can to help people learn. If you find you need more help we'll do our best to help you out and will keep on liking you too. ;)

I'm so glad to hear you got it working! Put some pics of your setup in the other thread so we can see it!

Exactly. The cool thing about pathfinding is they do work without it, so it's sort of a fun optional activity. It's a lot like many things in Second Life: It gets kinda technical, but it's still manageable, and people can help each other, and it's fun.

My set up is being remade. :p It's slow going trying to make sure it's working. I'm scared to actually try the second level yet. I have two rooms. Nothing complicated, but it's neat just to watch them walk around the walls. LOL

I use Singularity, Pathfinder doesn't show up under view? build. It's mentioned on the edit window when I rez a prim, but it says pathfinder none, and none is in blue and pathfinder greyed out.
Is it only V3 viewers that can see or work with Pathfinder?

Singularity has not added pathfinding features to their viewer yet. You'll need to find a viewer that has it if you want to use it, Wyrm.

Yeah! I was on Singularity and couldn't find it but it's on Phoenix. And Phoenix is actually working better for me in other areas as well.

I managed to build a 2 floor setup and get them going around walls and walking on upper floor, but for the life of me I can't get the lil buggers to go up the ramp...... and I have no idea why, but when I try to view navmesh the whole screen goes black and all I can see is the names of the mossms, I have walkable and static ticked but see nada :(

Ţžυkɛ, Pathfinding can be quirky. The single best way to understand what is happening with your navmesh is to look at the navmesh as opposed to walkables and static objects. Allow me to explain:

In view/test if you disable world then enable navmesh your screen should turn white and black. White represents walkable surfaces, black represents holes in the walkable surface. Mossms will avoid holes in the navmesh. If you pan around something that is black, the same way you would pan around something you were building, it starts to take on a 3D look and it will make more sense to you.

If you turn on walkables and static objects it will show you a 3D representation of your build. I like to use this to make certain that objects are set properly but it doesn't really help isolate problems in the navmesh. You really need to see where those holes are and eliminate them if they appear in the middle of a path you've tried to designate. You have to use the navmesh feature above to do that. If you are not seeing anything when you select walkable and static in view/test then your objects are not properly set to walkable and static.

One other note: If your Mossms cannot find a suitable path they will just make one instead of getting stuck. This is why they travel but don't use the ramp. They cant find the ramp.

If you're still having trouble, be sure to read our pathfinding guide, if you haven't already: http://www.mossms.com/content/pathfinding/, and if you get really really stuck, I can come by in the evenings to help you with it, just let me know.

I guess my Mossms have let me know they don't care for the new setup involving their Zip items. They have reduced their zip production by lots since I changed. Little suckers are particular! Guess that's something to watch for...
