I intend to gift mossms to the rest of the my family and was wondering, as they want to keep them in the same area as mine, will they be able to use the furniture that I have or will they need their own?

not that I am aware of , Mossms food is loaded on to the server, so its owner specific, they would need there own .

Mossms can use anyone else's environments (unless you set in your preferences for them to ignore other people's environments). Mossms always eat the food in their owner's account, and produce resources for their owner.
