Mixing traits from different planets

There were some questions about whether you can mix and match traits from different planets together.

Q: Can you mix, say, the ears from planet 1 with the tail from planet 2?

Yes, you can. Here's how. Traits you get from a planet will pass on that planet as well as any higher planet. Each planet puts things into the dna pool. Things that planet puts in will only pass on that planet or higher. So let's say you want the ears from 1 and the tail from 2. You get the ears from 1, and breed it on planet 2 until you get the ears from 1 to pass and the tail from 2 to pass.

So things from lower planets will pass on higher planets no problem, they just have to already be in the ancestry somewhere.

Some additional clarifications:

If you wanted drow ears on a moonstar, for example you breed a Mossm with drow ears on Black Starlight. If you want a Gradient with flowerpie eyes you breed the gradient on Faunarosa.

You can always breed up, you just can't breed down!
