It is time to release Phase I of our revamp. This phase includes a simplification of the breeding system, one new color and 4 new blends. We've also added a breed compendium where you can explore all possible color/blend combinations.

Progenitor will be releasing these changes around 12PM SLT on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 (that's in about 14 hours). Progenitor, Coolbrain and Richie Carami will be on deck to answer any questions you may have. We humbly request that support issues be submitted by ticket rather than using group chat so that everyone can ask and answer questions about the changes.

We know this is a big change and some of our fans have been skeptical but we are very proud and very excited about the new system. Through internal testing we've verified that although the system is easier to undersand it is actually a bit more challenging. We expect that this will make the collections games that are coming in Phase 2 very fun and rewarding. More on that later. Lets recap what you can expect in this Phase.

Starter kits:
Starter kits will no longer contain just blue Mossms. When a starter Mossm is rezzed it will randomly be assigned one of the following colors:

  • Darkblue
  • Lightblue
  • White
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Black
  • Purple
  • Pink
The color of the starter Mossms will be based on the color rarity rules below. Orange will not be included in starter kits but will be passable from any existing Mossms

Colors:
We will be Introducing a new color; yellow.
Some colors will be more common than others. The color rarity will be as follows:

  • Common: Darkblue, Lightblue, Yellow, White
  • Uncommon: Green, Black
  • Rare: Purple, Pink

Blends:
We will be introducing several new blends (we’ll leave these to be discovered)
Like colors, some blends are more common than others. The blend rarity will be as follows:

  • Common: Solid (no pattern)
  • Uncommon: Gradients, Tigers, Zebras etc...
  • Rare: The new blends

Uniques:
There will be no changes to Uniques. Here’s how they work:

  • Uniques contribute one of the printed blends from their home planet to the DNA pool when breeding. The blend that it contributes will be randomly selected when the unique Mossm is born
  • Uniques contribute one color from the mother and one color from father to the DNA pool when breeding
  • The blend and color that the unique will contribute to the DNA pool is visible on the Mossm’s page and can be found directly under the DNA Scan. It will look something like this: “Passes:lightblue-skin-darkblue-longfur-tiger”

Ancestry: Parents will be the only family members that contribute to the outcome of a newborn. You’ll no longer need to know what the father’s grandmother looked like!
Inbreeding restrictions will remain the same (ie. no common ancestors going back 2 generations on mother’s side and father’s side) so you’ll still need to pay attention to what you are breeding together.

Breeding:
Only the Planets and Parents determine what a baby will look like:

    Planets:
  • Every planet will contribute a solid blend to the DNA pool
  • Every planet will contribute one uncommon printed blend to the DNA pool
  • Every planet will contribute one rare printed blend to the DNA pool
  • Printed blends will be easier to get on the lower level planets and more rare on the higher level planets
    Parents:
  • Parents will contribute their colors to the DNA pool
  • Parents will contribute their blends to the DNA pool

Passing Traits
When a new baby is born it can only possess colors that one of the parents had.
When a new baby is born it can only possess a blend that the planet has or one of the parents has.
Other than getting an unique, there should be no more surprises when breeding. You will only be able to get one of the traits available on the planet or in the parent’s DNA. However, some traits pass more easily than others.
